The Walking Bus

The second in a set of three films I worked on for Deadline Communications on behalf of Essex County council, The Walking Bus was a 2 1/2 minute animated film detailing the benefits of the walking bus scheme to both parents and children.

The film follows young Zack on his journey from home, to meeting up with the walking bus and finally getting to school.

To keep the focus firmly on the kids, very simple black and white line backgrounds were used, with the walking bus being rendered in a clean cartoon style designed to appeal to the young audience.

Primary animation was carried out in Anime Studio Pro, with backgrounds illustrated in Flash and Illustrator.

I Designed, storyboarded and did the animatic for  the film as well as assisting in the animation in the incomparable Mike Green. Deadline Communications handled editing and mastering and the script was written by Jim Cogan.
